My Story

My story

Did I Love? Did I Give? Did I Lead?

The two quotes that shaped my life forever…

It all started with an idea, then a goal, and later a story I told myself when I was 5 years old, which was… “When I grow up I am going to be the smartest person in the World!” The hunger towards excellence emerged. Straight A’s throughout my childhood that year, top in his class, trophies stacked galore. I was hooked on accomplishments and rewards. A few years later I heard a quote from my dad after joining sports that would change my life forever… “Son if you start something you better finish it, don’t disappoint me.”

That one quote has led me to extreme measures of accomplishment. I took that one quote off the field of playing sports and put it into every part of my life. It led me to accomplish things I did not thing were possible. Things like graduating with an associates degree before High School while playing 3 different sports, to completing my bachelors degree in Architecture at Texas A&M University after overcoming the challenge, and pain of cutting myself with an exacto blade 3 times on the same finger while trying to finish a 3 day project, to becoming less than .1% of a sales company to sale over 1 million dollars in products and be entered into the Cutco Hall Of Fame after wanting to quit so many times because of all the no sales I acquired at the beginning and the lack of support I had from my parents.

The True Journey Begins…

Although a part of my identity was instilled at such a young age, I believe it was from the ages of 19-22 working at my first job working with Vector Marketing/Cutco that my journey to transformation truly began. Before Vector I was a shy, keep to myself kind of guy, an introvert people would say. I had been my whole life. However, my dad’s tenacity, drive, and ambition running his successful business in photography for over 20+ years as a self made entrepreneur inspired me to pursue entrepreneurship as well. Because of the sales and management roles I had within those 3 years, it led me to gain confidence in all areas of my life which I strongly needed. To me it was as if God was moulding and preparing me for this moment right now. This moment to share my life lessons with you, to share my story with you, to know that there is always hope on the other side, and to know that there is always more than what we see.

The Unexpected Change…

2012 was the year of change I had never anticipated. Throughout my college years I had been praying for a long term relationship; however, nothing ever seemed to align. I had about given up. I decided that year I would finally run my own Cutco Office for the summer after graduating from Texas A&M University. I recall coming back home to my home town and stopping by the to say hi to my manager the week before graduation day at College Station. He invited me to speak to his team and go out with them afterwards bowling. I couldn’t resist. I love bowling. I went out with the intention of just having fun and meeting new people. Little did I know God had more for me that night. We all went bowling, played pool and had a great time. A girl that night was being nice to me that night but at the same time challenging me which caught my interest. She was bold, outspoken, and curious. Something was different about her. I had to learn more about her. That night we ended up getting a ride back to the main office where we originally started. That’s where the magic began. I was hooked in conversation with her. I was so curious. I felt something I never had felt before. It was different. After about 2 hours of talking outside I ask her out on a date the next day. We were inseparable.

The Glory & Growth

This wonderful individual changed the way I looked at things. It was because of her belief in me as well as her lavish taste for nice things which I wanted to provide that raised me to whole new level of skill development. That first year with her I became the number 1 Manager for the summer that year out of about 15 different offices within my category. Later I decided to switch roles from manager to be an Elite Sales Rep. Every year since I increased my sales. Sometimes even as much as 200-300% growth. Life was great. We were able to move multiple times from small apartments to later a 3 bedroom 2 story home in San Antonio, TX. These years from 2013-2016 were some of my most fun memories. She encouraged me to get out of my small town called Elsa,TX where I am originally from and go see what the U.S. has to offer. I agreed, and after that I was hooked. We travelled everywhere, even places outside of the U.S.A. Places like Greece, Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Jamaica, and Dominican Republic to name a few. We got to see the world together and get different perspectives of life. It was great.
